BOARD OF EDUCATION MINUTES – May 22, 2008

 

1.      Call to Order:

President Stoller called the Princeville Community Unit School District 326 Board of Education special board meeting to order on Thursday May 22, 2008, at 7:02 p.m. in the Unit Office.

 

  1. Roll Call:

3.      Public Recognition

Dennis Whittaker addressed the Board about the positive projects that they have undertaken in the past few months.  He encouraged the Board to be cognizant of community communication, a constant challenge.

 

 

  1. Consideration and Action on a Resolution Authorizing the Issuance of Working Cash Bonds

A motion by Steve Rees, seconded by Miles Colwell, to approve the Resolution for the Issuance of $670,000.00 in General Obligation School Bonds, Series 2008, of Community Unit School District #326, Peoria and Marshall Counties, Illinois, and for the levy of a direct annual tax sufficient to pay the principal and interested on said bonds.  The proceeds from the bonds will be used to install air conditioning at Princeville Grade School.  Roll Call:  Streitmatter-aye, Rees-aye, Ptak-aye, Colwell-aye, Cowser-aye, Steidinger-aye, Streitmatter-aye; 7-ayes, 0-nays.  Motion carried.

 

  1. Executive Session:

 

A.     A motion by Leslie Ptak, seconded by Chris Steidinger, to go into executive session at 8:26 p.m. for the purpose of discussion of appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, compensation, and/or performance of specific employees and negotiations.  Roll call:  Colwell-aye, Steidinger-aye, Streitmatter-aye, Cowser-aye, Ptak-aye, Rees-aye, Stoller-aye; 7-ayes, 0-nays.  Motion carried.

 

B.    A motion by Miles Colwell, seconded by Doug Streitmatter, to return to regular session at 9:13 p.m.; 7-ayes, 0-nays.  Motion carried.

 

  1. Adjournment:

A motion by Steve Rees, seconded by Darin Cowser, to adjourn at 9:14 p.m.; 7-ayes,

0-nays.  Motion carried.
