Course
Description: English IV is intended to be a college-preparatory course that
focuses primarily on the most significant writers in British history. (We may
occasionally "branch out" to explore the works of non-British
writers.) Short stories, essays, poems, plays, and novels composed by such
writers as Chaucer, Shakespeare, Dickens, Wordsworth, and Wilde will be
studied. Movies, music, and art will be used to supplement the literature
studied in the course. In addition, there will be several literature based
writing assignments during the year.
