Course Syllabus

Course Instructor : Mr. Walles

Course Description: English IV is intended to be a college-preparatory course that focuses primarily on the most significant writers in British history. (We may occasionally "branch out" to explore the works of non-British writers.) Short stories, essays, poems, plays, and novels composed by such writers as Chaucer, Shakespeare, Dickens, Wordsworth, and Wilde will be studied. Movies, music, and art will be used to supplement the literature studied in the course. In addition, there will be several literature based writing assignments during the year.

100-95 A                   82-79 C

94-93 A-                    78-77 C-

92-91 B+                   76-75 D+

90-87 B                     74-71 D

86-85 B-                    70-69 D-

84-83 C+                   68 or less F
