Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12

Semesters :2

Credit: .5 per semester

Individualized instruction is provided to each student. Basic math concepts and applications are taught, with an emphasis on developing pre-algebra skills.

 

Career Education

Grade: 11

Semester: 2

Credit: .5 per semester

This course assesses student interest and abilities in relation to careers. Several career assessments are utilized and units on appropriate work behaviors and completion of actual job applications are covered. Students learn interview skills and participate in mock interviews. This course serves as a pre-requisite to the Coop program.

 

Consumer Applications

Grade: 12

Semester: 1

Credit: .5

This course places an emphasis on preparing students for their role as a consumer. Topics include budgeting, banking, credit, comparison buying, taxes, and wages.

 

Coop Related Class

Grade: 12

Semesters: 2

Credit: .5 per semester

Students who are in the co-op program are employed in an off-campus job site. These students receive instruction in a co-op related class which includes basic job skills such as getting along with co-workers, following emplyer's directions, workplace ethics, and budgeting and banking with paychecks.

Assistance is provided to students who need academic support in regular division classes. An emphasis is placed on the development of effective organizational skills and good study habits. Students earn a passing grade by meeting daily organizational requirements in the classroom and by maintaining passing grades in all courses
