            Class rules:

        1. Be in your seat and ready to work when the bell rings.
        2. Bring all necessary materials to class everyday
        3. All assignments must be written on non-spiral paper in blue or black ink. A complete heading consisting of first and last names, the date, and the assignment must be on all papers.
        4. Late work is not accepted. Bring your completed work to class every day. Failure to do even one assignment can lower your grade.
        5. You are responsible for finding out what you miss when you are absent. Be sure to get your make-up work sheets from the office so you have your work completed for the next class.
        6. Use your paragraphing and sentence skills. All assignments should be written in complete sentences unless other instructions have been given.

Syllabus:

First nine weeks – Paragraphing, short stories, parts of speech, parts of sentences, essays based on literature

Second nine weeks – Short stories, phrases, clauses, essays based on literature

Third nine weeks – Research paper, usage, Julius Caesar, phrases, clauses

Fourth nine weeks – Research paper, usage, literature from King Arthur, The Pearl

                        Assignments:

We will continue watching The Quiet Man.After the video, we will write a paper comparing the short story and the film.You will need your literature book on Thursday.

    • Senior night on October 20; senior parents should be ready at 6:35.
    • The football field will be dedicated to Coach Tom Bruna at half-time on October 20.
    • Mr. Z’s and Butter Braid fundraiser October 20 – 27 (See handout) Orders must be turned in on October 27. Late orders will not be accepted.
    • Fall banquet October 27 at 6:00
