8TH Grade Daily Work Log
RUADR = Read, Underline, Asterisk,
Define (circle and write definition for any words that you don’t know for extra
credit), React
Note: Students don’t have to define
every word that they don’t know in an article but should select one or two to
learn. They need to underline or
highlight at least some important items, and asterisk at least one very
important item as they read. The
reaction is not a summary but an opinion or thought about the article or
something that they learned and can apply from the article. They need to write
the title of the article, any definitions, and the reaction on the same page
and staple the paper to the article and put it in their yellow folder. Folders are turned in every few weeks, but
Mr. Dorrington will announce this in class.
Special Note for Parents: Students are required to show you their
assignment books and have you sign them.
These will be checked on Mondays.
